Ashton and Dean are seriously a dream come true. I didn’t have to pose them hardly at all their entire session…they are just *so* in love, and it shows so very much.
I don’t know why I get so lucky with my clients, but I just do. Here is another session of two people that I genuinely believe are two of of the most amazing people I’ve ever met. Their love is so strong, so sincere and their joy infectious. They just made me so *happy*. Being around them made me want to run home, give my husband the biggest hug and tell him how much he’s loved. Reading what they wrote about their relationship and each other gave me goosebumps!
How did you guys meet?
We met through our worship team at First Church of the Nazarene in Kokomo. I asked Ashton to be a part of a live music video that my band, Shiny Penny, was doing with our church choir. After that, we started to get to know each other. Though we knew that God had brought us together, we only thought it was only going to be a friendship, but little did we know that He had so much more in store for our relationship.
What makes Ashton so special?
I love her dedication to the Lord and the way she strives to reflect Him. She puts Him before me, which encourages me to do the same! I also adore her authenticity in the way she worships the Lord. It is so inspiring and uplifting. As for some of the smaller things, I can’t get enough of her ridiculously contagious smile and wonderfully positive outlook on everything.
Tell me about the proposal.
“Dean’s proposal was absolutely above and beyond anything I could have ever imagined! He had my two best friends text me and ask if I wanted to go to Starbucks one more time before they left for college. Of course, I said yes, but little did I know that when I opened the door to my friend’s car, my plans for the day would change! In the seat, there was an envelope with a number one on it, and inside the envelope was a note that Dean had written explaining that my girlfriends were going to take me a few places and that he would see me later. We proceeded to go to four more places that had a special significance in our relationship, and at each stop, there was another card explaining that significance and where I would go for the next stop. The last stop was our church, First Church of the Nazarene. I walked into the sanctuary where Dean was standing on the stage in the middle of a circle of red roses. Then, he got on one knee, popped the question, and I said yes! This was so special to me because he included our Lord and Savior in the process by asking me in the exact spot where we will commit our lives to each other, but also where we will dedicate our marriage to God.” Swoon.
What makes you love Dean so much?
I love the fact that he is a Christian, but not only that, I love that he is a follower of Christ, pursuing God daily. I always used to say that I wanted to find a man that loves Jesus more than me, and guess what? God placed him in my path! His relationship with Christ is so encouraging to me and makes me want to pursue God more and more daily. I also admire his heart for worship and the way that he uses the talent God has given him to minister to others. Obviously I find him very adorable and crazy talented, but more than anything, I am excited to do life with him, and to see where God takes him on this journey! He is everything I have ever prayed for and so much more!
Our wedding will be August 6, 2016. The ceremony will be held at our church, followed by our reception at The Bel-Air. Though we have said it time and time again, we have to say it one more time: Our wedding will have Jesus at the center. We want others to see that without Him, we are nothing. It is only by His love and grace that we can show true love and grace to each other.
You two are amazing, and I am so thrilled to have met you both. Without a doubt, your wedding day will be one I’ll never forget.
